Wikileaks Leaks: Nugroho Djajusman, a respected figure FPI

JAKARTA - Wikileaks back leaked some classified U.S. documents related to Indonesia. This time the new document, Wikilekas describes the relationship between police organizations the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI).

In addition to revealing the FPI is used as 'attack dog' Police, and mention of the former police chief who is now head of BIN, General (Ret.) Sutanto as the man who had funded the FPI, leaked Wikileaks also said that former Metro Jaya Police Chief, Commissioner General (ret) Nugroho Djajusman, sebgai figure who 'respected' in the FPI.

Leaked Wikileaks stated that FPI had a closeness with Nugroho Djajusman, and Nugroho has admitted it to U.S. embassy officials. "But Nugroho defended himself by saying that an ordinary thing he has contacts with all organizations, including the FPI, because its current position as head of Polda Metro Jaya," said Wikileaks.

The telegram is then revealed how Nugroho describe it, claiming that when he became police chief General Sutanto, lack the necessary connection with the FPI. And when there were demonstrations accompanied by violence by the FPI, Sutanto had to call and ask for help Nugroho as a respected figure within the FPI.

"Nugroho later told U.S. Embassy officials that he then telephoned the Chairman FPI, Habib Rizieq, and arrange the surrender of three members of the FPI, which regulate the violence in front of U.S. Embassy," said the leaked diplomatic cable.
